Un Monde sans Enfants by David Duhamel

France was the first country in the world to see its birth rate decline, and in 2024 the president is talking about "demographic rearmament." Fertility is plummeting everywhere, and two-thirds of the world's countries are no longer producing enough children to renew their populations. In 2100, will there still be children in South Korea? Is Italy doomed to disappear? We cannot measure either the depth or the speed of this upheaval, which is perhaps the most significant in humanity.

Rather than giving in to fear, this book invites us to take stock of the coming shock and to be wary of those who would exploit it.

The world is entering a demographic winter, and it will be harsh. But what spring will follow?
